Here is a reminder about our church's Outreach day this Saturday the 16th at the Schenectady City Mission. People will meet at Grace Chapel at 9:15 am to carpool. We'll pray then drive down and decorate/fix up the men's shelter from 10 am-12 noon, decorations are provided. This is open to everyone, so come and bring a friend if you would like. It is a fun and helpful thing to do especially around the holidays. Please, respond to this email if you are planning on coming. See you there!

Hey everyone! This Wednesday is our night out at the movies! Instead of meeting for our regular sit-down discussion, we're going to travel to Crossgates Mall to see "The Nativity Story". Meet us at Grace Chapel at 6:15 pm if you are interested in carpooling or near the ticket booths (maybe around 6:45) if you're not. The show starts at 7:15. After the movie we'll be discussing the movie and having time for fellowship at Uncommon Grounds (Western Avenue in Albany past Suny). This is a great coffee shop with bagels, desserts, teas, etc. I hope everyone can come! I've heard some great things about the movie and I'm sure we'll have a fantastic time. Horizons will sponsor apple picking for international students and American friends on Saturday, September 30. The apple picking will take place at Saratoga Apple, where everyone can pick their own apples directly from the trees. The apple crop is good this year and there are several varieties of early apples available. Everyone will pay according to the weight of apples they pick. There is also a county store there, where everyone can buy apple cider and apple cider donuts. We will not do the picnic this year. There will be an opportunity to drive through the city of Saratoga Springs on the way home. Rides will leave from Collins Circle at U Albany, the Student Union at RPI, or the Reamer Student Center at Union at 9:00 am. We'll return to Albany/Troy/Schenectady by 2:00 pm. If you're interested in attending this event, please respond to this e-mail or call Lisa Liu (456-4866) by Thursday, September 28. Please let us know if you can help by driving. Good day!
This week at our College and Career meeting we will spend our time in reflection and prayer. Think of it as a mini-retreat. The Fall is a busy time for everyone and it will be good to take some extended time just being quiet before the Lord, to reflect on Him and His Promises. So come ready to meet with God. We will begin as usual, at 7:30pm at Grace Chapel.

Horizons Event -- Hike in the Adirondacks at Crane Mountain,September 16th (FP) |

Horizons will be sponsoring a hike for international students and Americans friends to Crane Mountain in the southern Adirondacks on Saturday, September 16. Crane Mountain is one of the best hikes in the southern Adirondacks. It is a moderately difficult hike of 5.0 miles (round trip). The trail goes up and down a small mountain (vertical rise of 1300 vertical feet) and past a beautiful mountain trout pond. If the weather is clear, there will be great views of the southern Adirondacks from the top. |
